Basic Psychology Course
Basic Psychology Lectures
Both the directly observed behavior of organisms and the complex mental processes that cannot be directly observed, such as thinking, reviving, remembering and imagining, are within the scope of psychology On the one hand, internal processes such as perception, attention, emotion, motivation, intelligence, personality; on the one hand, interpersonal relationship processes (such as love, harmony and conflict in marriage, attachment between mother and child ...), intra-group (for example, compliance and obedience to the group) and inter-group relationship processes (eg intergroup prejudice and discrimination, collective action… etc) are the subjects that psychology science works on. Behavior of both humans and animals can be studied within the science of psychology. With all these features, psychology is closely related to both science and medical sciences and social sciences.
The goal of psychology is to define mental processes and behavior, to explain why and how they occurred, to predict how they will change and develop in the future, and to control these processes. In line with these goals, research is carried out with empirical methods - for example, experimental or correlational methods. The information produced by psychology science is used in many areas related to the evaluation and organization of human activities. For example, in the diagnosis and treatment of mental diseases; in eliminating the problems of adaptation of persons in school, family or workplace; Psychology is used to abandon negative attitudes and behaviors related to health, traffic or environmental problems and to gain positive attitudes and behaviors.
